So, here we have our very first blog article! I know that many of you follow us on social media, but if you don’t and would like to, I will include the link at the end of this article.

For now, though, we would just like to introduce ourselves and give you a bit of an idea of what we are all about. My name is Tom, and I started Cambridgeshire Babysitting Service a few years back. I was working in a primary school in a support staff role at the start of my career, and it was alongside that when I first started babysitting. I realised there isn’t a lot out there for parents and families to have a bit of affordable time off and so, we were born.

Yes, there are childminders out there and they are brilliant, but I wanted to offer services with a bit more flexibility. So, our little team was born. We started out by offering just simple babysitting services in the Cambridgeshire area but we soon found we needed to expand to surrounding areas too. Our team has also grown and with that, so have our services and we now have a sister company called Norfolk Babysitting Service.

From just a few hour sessions to overnight stays, to group babysitting, even to last-minute bookings on major holidays such as New Years Eve, we soon became quite a handy service to a lot of families with children. That, and our capacity to accommodate children from as young as a few weeks old.

Our team is made up of both male and female, fully qualified in childcare professional sitters. We love children of all ages and we thoroughly enjoy being able to support families who just need a little bit of time off, whether it be for a date night, a party or even just a dentist appointment. We offer all kinds of activities for the children we look after, ranging from educational, to just plain fun. One of the most important things to us is that the children and their families trust us implicitly and have the best possible experience we can offer them.

We are extremely proud to announce that we now offer our babysitting services at weddings. We have been doing this for the last few months and are now making it an official service. Weddings are fantastic occasions and often, children are a big part of that. However, weddings do tend to go on for quite a long time and can be quite hard on both children and their parents. There isn’t generally much going on in the way of entertainment for children, especially very young ones. This can cause boredom, emotions and tempers to run high and in some cases, disruptive behaviour. Definitely not the ideal situation for a wedding!

So, we decided to roll out our wedding sitting service and so far, it has been a roaring success! We still keep the children in attendance at the wedding, but in parts that are not necessarily stimulating or entertaining for your little ones, we take them off to play in a different area so you can fully enjoy the ceremony and festivities.
